From feats of magic and murder, to sainthood and exile, you never quite know what you will get when you meet an Aren. A knife to the back or a friend for life, children of circumstance bare their fangs at the unknown as their world changes so. Deep seeded treachery plagues those whom bare the Aren curse, whether it fatal or heartbreaking.

All will betray their master in the end.

The Council

Through the entirety of the Family's history, the Grandmaster has been counseled by a council, in varying size and quality.

The smallest recorded council was the council of Dymitri Aren I, who only took his younger brother's, Marketh Aren I, council. The largest recorded council is that of Dwight Aren I, who held a council of thirty men, making decision making within the family a difficult affair.

The powers held by the council change from Grandmaster to Grandmaster, and are usually the same tasks any advisory council would have.


Those with a council seat are currently


Grandmaster Vynriette Aren, who leads the family.

Lord Father Rodney Flint, whom raises the young and seeks out the blood.

Lady Keeper Vynriette Aren, who buries the dead and keep the old ways alive.

Lady Archmage Marie Aren, who runs the Arcane Institute.

Grand Scribe Ren Draculea, who commands the library and business affairs.

Lady Vanguard Ilia Ravens-Aren, who commands the Aren military.


Honorary seats


Lord Old Blood, who runs the C.O.D. Initiative.

Lady Architect, who created the Aren Arcane Institutes base of operations in Aspera.

Lord Lion, father of the ruling branch

Lord Justice, a more secretive member.

Factions

The Aren House has spawned a good many factions throughout the years. Some of these are:


The Church of Galethorn


These folk, whether Aren blood or not, follow the word of Galethorn strictly as if the Aren Founder himself were a god. In reality, he wasn't but don't let them hear that. Most of these folk are flesh crafters, or body enchanters that are hunted by the C.O.D. Operation. Lead by a single person known as 'The Lightning Lord'


The Pirates


Started by Malakai Aren after his father Christopher Aren emblazened half his body with a fire wave, somehow living. After recovery, Malakai started on his own pirate named 'The Lost Son', searching for his lost son Caius. Once having found his son, Malakai rejoiced, now terrorizing the sea's with his shiny new merchant vessals and his boarding crews.


The Exiles


When settling into Asgarnia from Yanille at the start of the fifth age, Grandmaster Ignitus Aren decided that it was for the greater good that the Aren family expunge all Zamorakians from their midst. Each and every Zamorakian that did not denounce Zamorak was in turn branded on the forehead with hot metal with the symbol of the lord of chaos, not allowed to be called Aren if they valued their lives provided that they never return to Aren land.


The Purists


There are those in the family that want only certain traits to be of Aren quality, any with other qualities must perish. These certain traits are; pale skin, emerald eyes, raven black hair, and magical supremism. These types have a lot in common with the Slytherin house from Harry Potter.

Clans

There's seven clans within the Aren house as of current, each represented with an animal, and each having their own creator underneath the Grandmaster. Below shall be listed the seven clans.

Lion

The Lion clan reign kings, politicians, and people of power. There is an innate greed found within all that are born into this clan aswell as great tragedy. Created by Christopher Aren.

Rat

Those of the Rat clan are fairly compassionate and free willed, known for being fairly against the flow of things. Those born of the Rat often find themselves hurting others in deep fits of passion, whether good or bad. Created by Tesla Aren.

Raven

Family comes first to those in the Raven clan, love eternal. Just know, those of the Raven clan are always an eye twitch away from descending into other personalities. Created by Beatrice Aren.

Spider

Subterfuge and mystery line all of those that are born of the spider. Those that are born of the Spider clan find themselves with sapphire eyes, which are said to have been the eyes of Kendrick Aren the Great. Created by Vynriette Aren.

Unicorn

Those of the Unicorn clan find themselves a bit more free willed and distant from the other clans due to their creator and his self exile from the family. Created by Heindrick Klaus.

Ram

Exiles pardoned by Vynriette. Most of these fellows are still Zamorakian, though now they are allowed their family. Created by Ambien the Nightbringer.

The Curse

The Aren Curse is something every Aren has. An Aren may have one, or even two, curses. It is uncertain how many curses an Aren can actually have.

It's said that the curse travels from father to child and mother to child; said child receiving an aspect of their father's personality, being doomed to suffer from that aspect. (For example: anger, sadness, forgetfulness, compassion, madness, kleptomania) Most die because of this flaw. For example, Ignitus died due to his madness consuming him, where Roddrick's foolishness doomed him to losing to Zane.
