As to Pyro's ascension, obviously it is only something he is claiming to have done IC'ly so it's open to interpretation of each player but it all comes down to the Elder Artefact he managed to gain access to just prior to our team up.

Apparently according to Jagex the marker actually isn't an elder artefact (even though I kinda think it should be) but no
A few months prior to our team up Pyro tried to build what he called the "Ash Legion" , an army of various fire mages and creatures and together they captured parts of Karamja, including the volcano.

I don't know why he didn't want to document it here. It's very interesting character-centric lore that should be recorded somewhere significant to the character. Maybe it has something to do with him using an elder artifact (again), and incorrectly at that?
