Juvenile Worms

Small creatures that are barely worth any notice. They are only aggresive if you get between them and a food source. Should you engage in combat with them (and not manage to kill them in a single blow) be mindful of the projectile acid. While it does not have lasting effects, the affected areas will be irritated for upwards of a weak, and their jaws are strong enough to tear flesh, but a sufficient layer of hardened leather or enchantments will prevent damage.

Adolescent Worms

Small creatures that come up to the knee of your average adult. While not as strong as their Mature counterparts, these worms seem to travel in groups.

Recent reports suggest that there is a physical difference in their abilities, the most obvious being differences in size as well as the appearance of their upper shells. Worms that seem to be more prone to acid attacks have thicker lower limbs and shorter mandibles, and will often use the former to drag themselves along.

As with the smallest form, Adolescent Worms have a protective layer of mucous on their lower half that reduces the damage from certain types of attacks.

Mature Worms

Massive beasts the size of horses can that be faster than they appear. While their crawling speed is of no note, their true mobility comes from their leaping tackle. Characterized by a moment in which they coil on themselves, the creatures shoot at a desired target, often the closest source of heat not within range of their claws or bites.

If you do not have a shield, it is advised to stay away from their front, as their mandibles and claws are capable of rending metal.

Like their smaller iteration, these worms are capable of firing wads of acid. The variants fired by the mature beasts is able to eat away at metal. Combined with their jaws assume any weapon caught by them is now nothing more than a multi-pronged dagger.

The chitin on their upper half is separated into two parts. The first is connected to their three mandibles, with a small gap between that and the lower portion that protects the majority of their internal organs. It is recommended that a shield bearer hold their attention in front so that another may take aim at the gap in their carapace or from behind where the only protection is a thick layer of slime that provides resistance again slashes, bludgeoning, and spells under Wave class.

Winged Beasts

Creatures covered in dense natural armor ranging from the size of simple bats to two horses standing abreast. Capable of flight, they primarily attack by flying high before diving at their target, using their teeth to either tear flesh away or swallow their prey whole if large enough.

The chitin covering their bodies makes them highly resistant to most attacks, however crushing blows such as those dealt by Wave class Earth magic or baited two handed strikes.

Additionally, the larger forms are capable of giving off loud ear piercing shrieks. Smaller forms give off these cries as well, but they are much more bearable. If unable to make useful strikes at the body, aim for the membrane on their wings to impede their movement.

Suggested Equipment

Extra layers of armor/clothing to throw away in the event of acquired acid.
Stabbing/Crush weaponry.
Dense/Heavy bows to pierce/deflect carapace
Earth Magic to control worms
-----
At least one light source required at all times for every four people. The caves are dark, and visibility is low.

Combat System

During these sessions, should combat occur I will be utilizing a turn based system with the order being randomly generated.

If you are using multiple characters, please only use one at a time, unless you wish you have a group action in which case please refer to the notes below

As things may change through out the fight, please way for me to say who goes next, even if you believe you know the turn order.

Certain characters will be allowed multiple attacks (usually two) in the same turn while using specific types of weapons. You will be notified if your character is capable of this.

There is a chance I will utilize a Popcorn system; in this system I will specify the amount of times enemy units can move while players will only receive one. I will randomly call out who goes next, the Unit I tell can go next takes their action, and then OOC'ly calls out another Unit to take their move.

Q&A

In the event you wish to make a group action, whether spontaneous or planned, Units whose turn has yet to pass will take their turn at the same time as their companion, returning back to their normal turn order unless a group action will be made again.

Group actions would be considered a shield bearer holding the attention of the target so that their ally has an easier shot.

Assorted Trivia

Single movement does not attract attention (like throwing a rock)

Water flows seem to mute the results of your movement.

Adolescent (and presumably Juvenile) Worms attempt to hide from a much larger creature (unknown if this applies to Mature Worms or only flying beasts).
