Buttered sprouts, interesting. I'll probably have a few (with broccoli, carrots and cabbage) but I'm not mad on them. Parsnips are worse, cannot stand those things. Same with swede.

My eldest son hates sprouts. He had his first taste of them when he was very little. I had given him a bit of everything from the Christmas dinner and he was happily feeding himself until he put a sprout in his mouth. He burst into tears and refused to eat anything else from his plate.
Several years ago I saw a science report on TV which said that people who don't like sprouts are super tasters who can detect a chemical in the disliked food ( its in other things too ). I can't remember the name of the particular chemical involved.

Weird, there's no custom of eating sprouts with Christmas dinner in Australia.
Well, there's a lot of things it's not customary for us to eat on a hot summer's day, but we at least know about most of the things we're choosing not to eat.
