^ White vinegar is useful for many, many things, it's a great natural cleaner.
If you combine it with baking soda, even more so.

Antisocial Tip:

If you've got the sort of face (like mine, apparently) that makes people feel they've got to engage you in banal conversation in whatever queue you happen to be standing in, make sure you've learned how to say "Sorry, I don't speak English" in some rather obscure language.

It works, trust me.

I use white vinegar to descale the draining board in the kitchen and round taps. You can see it getting to work because tiny bubbles appear on the limescale. Its like magic!

I can't help wondering how mixing with baking soda works considering the 2 ingredients will be reacting and neutralising the acid effect of the vinegar. I saw someone on TV using the mixture to clean the inside of an oven door. I tried it and it didn't make much difference.

My tip. A paste of baking soda will remove tea stains. I sprinkle some inside our cups then rub with a wet cloth. You can also use steradent denture cleaner.

Todays tip of the day.

If during hot weather you have open windows make sure you have fly netting there to keep the bugs out.

Just kicked out 5-6 big bluebottles. Was driving my dog mad she was chasing them all over the house lol.

I hate it when insects get in the house, I think we need to start fitting "screen doors" to houses as standard... and if summers continue to get longer and hotter, air con should be included in new builds.

Tip of the Day

If your ears block up with ear wax, putting olive oil in your ears will unblock your ears better than remedies that you can buy from the chemist.

Just be careful putting cotton buds in your ear because they can damage your ear.

i worked in an opticians for 8 years, and being in the uk, opticians also have hearing department. using olive oil, doesnt get rid of wax it just makes it softer and easier to move.

that being said ear wax is incredibly important you do not want to remove it unless you have a severe build up.

and if you do have a severe build up. you can get it sucked out by an audiologist, with a much safer method then oil / ear bud / flushing etc.
