I would travel back to the day I had a good amount of Half Full Wine Jugs on Runescape. This would be around the time that the jugs weren't discontinued. Then I would tell myself to never drink the wine as they will be very valuable. I would also tell myself to make as much wine as possible and create hundreds of Half Full Wine Jugs. At the time I did not think that they would be discontinued and so I just kept making wine and drinking it completely. Brassica Prime:

I suppose it depends on what you would consider to be the "rules" of time traveling haha, since there are surely many different ways to think about it or to consider how it would work.

The way I think about it, if we were to travel backward or forward in time, but still within our own lifetime in either direction, we would be able to see our past-self or future-self.

Assuming you could do anything.....go back to the most pivotal moment in time and alter things so that we'd have a Herstory of Matriarchy and female rule. That is, all societies of the past and into the present being by, for, and of womyn.
This would also prevent the abrahamic religions from gaining any power at all since their deity is patriarchy personified as a god. Thus the world would be spared nearly 2,000 years of their xenophobia. Accounts: XMatriarchyX ; Hardcore metalwomyn MatriarchyM

If the power doesn't come with serious health and mental costs I would likely use it to:

Go back in time and witness the birth of christ(even though i'm jewish) and his adult life because i think that man that inspired Christianity is interesting to meet.

Go back in time and speak with Tolkien. I would love to exchange ideas with this amazing author. He's my hero.

Go back in time and invest in Jagex. Become Mod Cryinghawke and contribute to writing of Gielinorian Lore and quest lines.

Go back in time and.... obviously, make some money off it. I would like to do little things like buy my parents a nice house and big things like fund research into alzheimer's(terrible terrible disease).

Go back in time again and again watch a sunset(Thank you little prince for that idea)

Go FORWARD in time and purchase a copy of my own book signed by me. just for the giggles.
