Watched ''Restless"

I saw a trailer for that last night, I'll definitely be giving it a go!

Last night I started watching a new Netflix series that'[s been getting mixed reviews:
Inventing Anna
. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8740976/

Normally I think Julia Garner is excellent, particularly in Ozark, but she made the decision to adopt a really bizarre accent for this and it sounds awful, it's so bad that it's comical.

She's supposed to be German (or is she? (the back story is deliberately vague), so she's obviously going with that.

I hate abandoning a series I've just started, but it made me cringe every time she spoke.
Watch the first five minutes you'll see what I mean, it really is hilarious.

Tell me what do you think about it.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

I did :P
I couldn't get past the first episode due to Julia Garner's ridiculous accent.
What plot I managed to see seemed stretched a bit thin too.

Watched a great Cameron Crowe film last night and another old favourite:
Almost Famous
.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181875

It's about a young kid who wants to be a rock journalist and struggles until "Queen of The Groupies", Penny Lane takes him under her wing.

It's a lot of fun with dome great 70s music in it, although it does get a little bit slushy here and there, as you might expect with a Cameron Crowe film.
Definitely a feel-good film.

Lastnight I just needed to watch a movie I liked so I liked 1 of my all time greats.

Independence Day.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116629/ IMDB score 7/10 Deserved more.

1 of the best movies ever. Even has gaffs I like and found funny.

1 of the gaffs when the plane carrying the nuke fires it they vere off to the left. When you see it on the radar it's going to the right. Whooops who missed that lol.

Also lastnight I watched
Independence Day: Resurgence

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1628841/ IMDB score 5.2/10. Way below what it should have been.

Another great movie.

I am so looking forward to part 3.

Absolutely, it's a brilliant film... a bit corny here and there but a proper spectacle.
I must re-watch, maybe I'll save it for 4th July.

I've been watching a couple of WWII spy dramas recently, and last night's was
Black Book
(2006) starring Carice van Houten (Melisandre from Game of Thrones)

Directed by Paul Verhoeven, it's the story of a singer, Rachel Stein who infiltrates the Gestapo to help the Dutch Resistance.

Pretty grim in places, but a great story.
