A girl who was hostess at my preferred restaurant would constantly flirt with me, or so it would seem, despite my being several decades her senior.

I found it confusing to know for sure whether she was just being nice, or if she especially had a thing for me. The logical side of me finds it unlikely that she would fancy me in particular, but you never know.

She quit, and I haven't seen her in months.

I used to work in the hospitality business and was paid to be nice. Of course some people I did genuinely like, but I didn't go to work to pick up guys. I went to work to pay bills. I also have a job where I no longer interact with the public at all and never really intend to work any sort of hospitality job ever again.

That being said, everyone is different. You could simply go back and write your number on the guest receipt (not the merchant copy as that one is actually kept) and leave it on the table. And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known
