Currently re-reading The One That Got Away by Chris Ryan, probably one of the darkest books to be written as Chris Ryan who was the only member of the Bravo Two Zero squad to evade capture
I listen to djent sometimes, does that make me a djentleman?
Just finished Deadmen Walking. Now I'm reading Death Doesn't Bargain. Don't really like the author's interpretation of the Norse Gods, but overall the book is pretty good.
It's about American/British travelers coming to Spain for the first time to experience the culture and start a new life. I loved it because I could picture it happening if I actually were live in the 1920's
If you would like something to watch on Netflix, here you go = One Piece
The Secret Runners by Matthew Reilly will release August 18 2020. Planning on buying The Rift Coda, if it's available in store. Not going to order any books this month December is usually delayed for orders.
Good, good. William H. Keith Jr., one of my favorite Military Science Fiction authors books under his other pseudonyms seem to be all available on Amazon.ca. Expecting to "complete" his bibliography by 2023 at the earliest.
I just finished reading an omnibus on Silent Hill the movie. I learned that it was based on a game of the same name that came out in 1999 and the movie came out in 2006.
The game and movie takes place in Silent Hill, Maine, but was taken from a real town called Centralia, Pennsylvania, USA, which is still in existence today. Centralia was a thriving coal mining town. I'm not sure if the town was built over the mine or if the mine was extended under the town. The city decided it was time to burn the local garbage landfill near the town. The fire found a hole leading to the mine and the mine caught fire. The townspeople fought the fire for 16 years. As they put out one part of the fire, it popped up in another part. Finally, the people gave up and joined those who had already evacuated, except for a few who decided to stay. There's still a very small handful who are still residing there. The fire started around May 27, 1962. It's estimated that it will continue to burn for 250 more years.
In the game and movie, an evil force had taken over the city and the people who decided to stay were turned into hideous monstrosities with varying abilities of destruction and killing, who want normal humans anything but alive or looking normal.
Your task is to help Harry Mason escape Silent Hill by killing and/or evading the evil monsters and solving puzzles. Here is a synapses of who Harry Mason is in the game and movie.
