I'm 25% through harry potter and the methods of rationality. The first 150 pages or so was good, until harry became more and more sociopathic... I still want to finish the book since it's somewhat interesting. Also the author of the book seems like a nutjob

You might like the "Original European Religions" series by multiple authors and experts in Pre-Christian European history. It's a 10 book set, although I've not got the complete set. I regret not buying the complete set while it was available. You can still find some of the books, namely books Books 1, 9, and 10 but the rest of them are hard to find now. I don't think the publisher plans on doing another print of them either, unfortunately.

If you can track them down, the list of all the books are as follows

Original European Religions Volume I: The Rites of Old Europe 12,000-3,500 BC
Original European Religions Volume II: Sumeria
Original European Religions Volume III: Ancient Egypt
Original European Religions Volume IV The Aryans and the Rig Veda
Original European Religions Volume V: The Greek Gods
Original European Religions Volume VI: The Roman Gods
Original European Religions Volume VII: The Celtic Gods
Original European Religions Volume VIII: The Slavic Gods
Original European Religions Volume IX: The Norse Gods
Original European Religions Volume X: Valhalla and European Traditions

Definitely a series worth reading if you're interested in Pre-Christian European culture and tradition, although you could probably skip the Greek, Roman, Celtic, Slavic, and Norse Gods books if you wanted to since there's already so much on them out there already.

Krista, are you reading to your newborn or do you just enjoy classic children's stories?

Reading to newborn.

I do not like green eggs and ham
I do not like them here or there
I do not like them anywhere
I do not like them Sam I Am.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known
