Recently got hooked to Yukio Mishima's essay "Way of the Samurai". I'm reading the spanish version, titled "La ética del samurái en el Japón moderno" ("Samurai ethics in modern Japan"
I consider fascinating, even poetic, how a complex individual like Mishima revitalaized an old philosophy that dominated Japan during the Tokugawa period (1603-1867) and tried to apply it to the late 1960's in his country, vastly influenced by an americanization process after WWII, which Mishima considered to be a historic error that needed to be fixed in order to not lose traditional values.
It's a book about artistic, social and spiritual resistance, but mostly about love and perseverance.
