Thank you. It was our 41st.
We're still hoping we can go on the long delayed cruise we'd booked to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary ( ruby ) last year. We changed the booking to September this year but we're still not sure if we should change it again to next spring.
Happy anniversary!
In my university years i occasionally drank rather heavily, culminating in an open air concert featuring Journey where someone brought a huge jug of a drink made with Southern Comfort, Sloe Gin, and orange juice, which i drank way too much of resulting in a three day hangover.
Since then i only have an occasional drink and never to excess.

*snip*
I can make a beer last a couple hours. Someone poured me a pint and that lasted all evening. I rarely drink cocktails, any more.
I too can make a drink last a long time.
In the late 1990's I was listening to live blues at the most interesting bar in Chicago - Lily's (look it up and visit if you get the chance), just a few doors down the street from the Biograph Theater (of John Dillinger - lady in red fame for you gangster fans) and i ordered a Guinness. Lily's was a place in the USA where they knew the proper way to pull a Guinness before it became fashionable.
Anyway i was drinking the Guinness so slowly it would "die" before i finished. This would offend the sensibilities of the bartender, who would remove the Guinness and provide a fresh one, at no charge. This must have happened 4 or 5 times over the course of the evening, causing us to bond and become friends.

"Does open bottles of booze go bad?"
It probably depends on the alcohol content. Beer and wine would definitely go off.
One time, I left out half a glass of Chardonnay and passed out. The next morning it tasted like vinegar. It was cheap $11 boxed wine.
Booze usually refers to hard liquor.
I have a collection left over from from my wedding reception over 35 years ago and all of the vodka, whiskey, and rum is the same as it was when the bottles were opened.
I have a 10 year old Bombay sapphire gin, a 7 year old Herradura reposado tequila (for celebrating day of the dead) , and a 2 year old Bumbu rum (used primarily on talk like a pirate day) which are just fine.

Don't wait too long. As you get older time seems to fly by faster (of course we all know it doesn't). Then you'll be too old and decrepit to enjoy it. In 9 years you'll be celebrating your Golden Anniversary.

We want to go but it all depends on how the pandemic restrictions pan out. We have until the start of August to decide, if the cruise company haven't cancelled before then. The cruise is to Norweigian fjiords and if we wouldn't be allowed to get off the ship I'm not sure I'd want to go.
On topic. We, my friends and family, use the word booze to apply to all alcoholic drinks, not just spirits. I don't drink neat spirits because I don't like the burning sensation as they go down
