It's really hard to compare players from different eras, things like fitness levels, nutrition etc. are emphasized much more now, so it probably isn't as straightforward a decision.

Personally I'd throw George Best into the argument too.
For example, Mbappe scored and assisted more than Ronaldo and Messi at their respective age but Neymar did too but he fell behind, quite a bit. We need to wait and see people's full careers. Ronaldinho is still the player with best technique and he did things that have never been seen before but he didn't last for too long. Alcohol, nightlife, girls..
