Ah, Sir Steve, if you ever get the opportunity come to the U.K. and try our huge assortment of brews. You must know the Brits are a terribly inebriate race of people (must be the cold Northern climate which predisposes us towards alcohol and protein).
Although the large cities & towns only offer the usual small homogenised and usually dreary variety of beers, out into the rural areas is a different world. Within a 10 mile radius of my house you could probably find Pubs selling a spread of about 40 different beers - mainstream and micro.
It's a wonder I'm not the size of a barn :-D
