Wasn't trying to encourage others to break real world laws, just to have others realize how "broken" the gaming industry is, games shouldn't cost 3k IRL money to buy all maybe 10 shark pixel drawings.

It's getting out of hand....

@Sage in the example you provided it's understandable that they would have to charge a little extra but it shouldn't be a permanent cost. If you are at an apartment and the landlord upgrades the AC's the price should only increase for the time it takes to make that money back then lower the cost of rent to what it was.

That isn't necessarily true. As in any industry, once they find out that John Q. Public is willing to pay the price, it does not come down. In the case of the labeling machine, once the cost of the machine is paid for the price of the product does not decrease. The case of the dry cleaners, once the new machine is paid for the price does not come down. You live in a too perfect world.

In your examples of having to pay $10.00 for access to each city is not unethical in the eyes of the owner. If you are willing to pay, you continue on in the game. If you are not willing to pay, then you are stuck where you are or quit. As the children's game I sited, after leveling up you had to pay to continue. It's a kid's game, that, in my opinion is unethical, but then I'm not the owner of the game. Little kids don't understand, adults do. They either accept or delete and move on.

@Sage, it's honestly surprising that you defend micro-transactions. Almost everyone hates them lol people only pay the price because it's what the company demands and offers. People have forgotten they have the power, not the industry. I say everyone should band together and demand the dlc's be free or the prices get lowered.

Going back to the bit about $10 per city, you forgot to mention the part where I said you purchased an entire game with all of the content there, visible in game, you now own that game. Yet you are denied access to each town unless you pay $10 per city. Why should you have to pay to access parts of a game you purchased when all of the content is there? You shouldn't have to pay to access parts of a game you paid full price for.

I don't know why I have to keep specifying that lol

I hope you see the point I'm making.

^It all depends on the type of MTX;

DLCs that are designed well and add many things should be worth 15.99-30.99 for their time making extra content. But i have seen many games add features main game should have in a form of DLC.

Long term games(Online) vs 60 hour vs 300 hour games should have different rules on what they can sell. I value well designed stuff not cheap shot just to make an easy profit.

FYI for all those comparing other item deals as same as MTX, heres some info:

Game related MTX = infinite sales <---just design it once.

other IRL items require time to make "each" item with the required materials X amount to rack up why it costs a ton.

Once again games = copy and paste per sale / send ID code 78634875634 <---you just unlocked the whole map for 45,500 gems!

IRL items = remake each one per sale

-------

See.....it's no where near the same but some games so cost a ton to make so MTX rules are highly different from one game to the next;

1. was it free? they need paid somehow
2. was it 80$ and it has content locked behind 200$+ that should be part of main game?...
3. was it 80$ and the MTX so crazy and the game is a 'temp" game (online but not long term) <---prices of these MTX should be cheap since the game ends and sometimes support for games end which = all spent $$$ = all bought stuff lost for the gamer

But my views are very different from many in todays time period. I don't belong very well in todays society. "what people are willing to pay" <---that can burn to the ground, it's the very cause for world prices being so high.

^this maybe discovered by covid 19 if people figure out the 2nd method to stop it faster, but nah they won't. <--not trying to derail, but it's true. "sometimes things happen for a reason" even if the cost is super high. :(
