The P45 is not an "upgrade" it was a joke spoof car made for a feature on Top Gear motoring program in 2013.
The Peel P50 had only a very brief production 1962 - 1965.
P45 is very well known terminology in the UK for and end of employment official government form - being given 'your P45' is equal to getting fired, hence the name for the car as a tongue-in-cheek joke name for the car.
The P50 mark was resurrected under licence in 2011 and sells a few cars annually.
