Indeed. I have no doubt it will be churned out by the million in some little backroom sweatshop. Even if they decide to make it a whizz-bang holographic sort of thing (like Blue Badge Disabled Parking) no doubt the Fakes will soon be doing the rounds.
So pretty pointless, really, as a means of admission to venues and such.

I've cancelled my vaccination appointment that was due today.
I've had an upset tummy today which hasn't settled down so I decided its better to wait a while. My husband is fine so is going ahead with his appointment. I just hope someone can make use of my cancelled slot. I've remade it for next week.
It'll most likely get used.
Around here when there are late cancellation or no-shows, the Surgery phones the Heads of local schools or Care providers and says anyone you can get here within an hour can have a 'leftover' jab. I personally know 3 people who got theirs early that way - which is better than wasting it
Lockdowns should be in place until 1-2 months after zero cases world wide are reported. The limits to households etc are 'precautions' which do help slow the spread.
OR
We continue to face lockdown, open up, lockdown(another new strain), open up, ......lockdown again etc and we gain zero ground <----this is us now btw, we gained nothing. This whole event isn't compatible with our systems.
You seem to believe that the number of cases should be the determining factor, and you seem to believe that we're in the same place as we were when it started.
That is false. The determining factor should be the death rate, which has gone down drastically.
Take Canada for example:
The number of cases has gone up drastically compared to the first wave, yet, the number of deaths has gone down. The number of deaths for the second wave were less than the number of deaths in the first wave. The number of cases in the second wave were around 10x the amount in the first wave, yet, the deaths were lower.
Remember how I said months ago last summer that the "new strain" was more transmissible, but less severe? Remember how I pointed out that the media is only referencing the "more transmissible" part, and gave the "less severe" aspect no mention at all, when they finally mentioned the "new strain" in the last few months?
You can literally see from the graphs that what I was saying last summer was absolutely accurate. The new strain spread more quickly, as predicted, with a far lower death rate, as predicted.
We aren't at "ground zero" anymore.
This virus is following the exact same behavior as other RNA viruses, such as influenza. It mutates to become more transmissible, but less lethal, because nature knows that if you kill the host, you kill the hosted as well.
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great!
This virus is following the exact same behavior as other RNA viruses, such as influenza. It mutates to become more transmissible, but less lethal
Did not know this.
Can you post proof?

Hope your dicky tummy gets better soon !
Thanks. I'm back to normal today and in fact I felt a lot better by 9pm but I'm sure cancelling was the best thing to do. My husband had his jab and he has a slight headache and a mild fever today but otherwise OK. It was the AstraZeneca vaccine.

So, apparently, garbage bags are the new PPE being used by health officials in Melbourne:
https://youtu.be/GBHCG4gyMPc
Sure, the garbage bags raise a lot of questions.
But, the real question is why are they housing confirmed covid patients in a hotel downtown in the heart of the city?
Wouldn't it make more sense to house them somewhere that isn't filled with people? You know, like, maybe outside of the city?
Logic.
It shouldn't Matter where they house the people being quarantined; the important part is managing the quarantined guest so the virus stays maintained and in-house.
In our country they are taken to the hotel by bus. It's making sure those arriving don't transmit to those already isolating in the hotel. Making sure everything is cleaned appropriately.
