I had a visit to the Doctors other day and He said I should eat some yogurt.

The thing is I can't stand it. I've never been one for eating it. I'm not sure if it's the thoughts or just the fact it's bacteria thats good for you.

So the question is really. Does anyone have any tips to get me to eat it?

Any tips are welcome as I do want to give it ago. I just need to get my head around it. :P

Which 1's do you eat or like?

there is also different types, such as greek yogurt, and french style yogurt. If you like gyros, I would recommend a tzaki sauce, which is yogurt, dill, cucumbers, and onion. It goes wonderful on many things too besides gyros. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

I like to eat yogurt with fresh fruit as a dessert. One of my favourites is Rachel's organic greek style ginger yogurt. The problem is that its quite expensive and only comes in 450g pots. Its a lot to get through by yourself ( my husband doesn't often eat yogurt ) because once its opened it has to be used in 3 days. The vanilla flavour one is nice too.
Sainsbury's taste the difference yogurt is in small pots. I like the honey & ginger and the black cherry flavours. I sometimes have those with fresh fruit added

I have always really liked yogurt. For years I have been buying a brand called Gopals which I think is a Hari Krishna company. Recently in the last year or so they have made a greek style yogurt flavored with vanilla. Its really nice.

Maybe if you find yogurt that is flavored with something that you like, you will start eating it.

I like adding vanilla yogurt to a bowl of granola, it's really tasty.

If your doctor suggested it, is it for the "good bacteria" (probiotics)?

If that's what you need and aren't keen on yogurt, there are drinks that will do the same job: Benecol, Actimel, Yakult etc. Most of them are in tiny "shot" bottles.

Cheers for the replies.

I'll be shopping tomorrow. I'll try a few suggestions and see how it goes. I got to give it a go after all. Everyone claims it's good for you.

As for the shot bottles I may try them too. If I don't like them my brother does. So they won't goto waste.

I'll try small tubs first just incase. Hopefully I'll find a few I like. If not not sure what to do.

Also why is there 100's of brands lol so many to chose from.

I'm not sure if the Sainsburys TTD yogurt is biolive ( live bacteria ) which is what you need for the health giving properties. Rachel's organic is but, as I said, is in big pots. There are other brands in small pots which are biolive.
