Best way to watch films. I bet Akira looked great in 4K.
I watched Lifeforce - a great mid 80s scifi with Space Vampires!
It's pretty corny but it's got a great (mostly British) cast, and the fx aren't too bad for an 80s movie.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
Not my cup o' tea - although I really like anything Sherlock this was just a bit too twee and teenager-y. It's saving grace was Henry Cavill who is always worth
ogling
watching.
Also .... Watchmen.
Not my genre at all but it just happened to be on. Rather silly film (sorry, you comics fans) but I confess I sat and watched the last bit as I was slightly fascinated by the Doctor Manhattan character .... *titter*

I'm part way through watching "A Street Cat named Bob". Although I know it has a good ending ( its based on a true story ) I still find myself worrying about the main characters.

I loved that film
I finished watching the film yesterday and have to admit I shed a few tears. I wanted to know how the man and the cat are doing now so did an online search.
Bob went missing on the 13th June this year and was found 2 days later by the roadside. He'd died from a head injury, probably hit by a car
that made me cry again. I hope James is coping with his loss
I'd never heard of A Street Cat Named Bob, it's got excellent reviews... one to check out!
Last night I watched
Whiplash
(2014) - the story of a talented young jazz drummer (Miles Teller) and the world's worst music professor (J.K. Simmons).
Don't be put off by the mention of Jazz (if you don't like that genre), it's a fantastic story and the film won quite a few well-deserved Oscars.
The thing that makes this film work is Simmons' character, Professor Fletcher.
Although I described him as the world's worst.... he might actually be the best.
He mentally bullies his students mercilessly, but the thing is, it gets results. It makes you ask yourself if his results justify the treatment.

Love love love that movie. So many twists and turns and the portrayal of Fletcher's character is insanely well done. I remember being genuinely terrified of him while watching it

As it's the month of Halloween I watched Creepshow 2. Cheesy and I loved it.
Later I'll be watching Trilogy of Terror (1975) with Karen Black starring. Seen it before and most of it is a bit tame, but the end story with the creepy wooden warrior doll is definitely worth a second watch, methinks
I'll probably be watching quite a few Horrors this month, heh heh.
