Interactive holograms would be better than VR, even an AR game would be better.

AR games are gross though. AR isn't the most popular type of gaming evidence: nearly all AR games have been sort of been shut down my companies. Take Minecraft AR for example. MC is one of the most popular and successful games of the past 15 years and they (Mojang) released an AR version of the game to later shut it down.
