I'm wondering how they will reproduce the stunning scenery that featured in the films. The UK does have a lot of beautiful scenery but its not the same. England hasn't really got any proper mountains ( very high hills in the Lake District, large stretches of moorland in several areas ) although Wales and Scotland do. Maybe the prequel series will focus on other areas of Middle Earth so can have a different landscape.

Anything to do with LOTR is a must for me. Probably my favourite books ever, and as said previously the films were awesome.

Will definitely watch and hopefully might see some content that was omitted from the films

I believe a lot of GOT was filmed in Northern Ireland.

^True. It was actually filmed in 5 countries including Croatia and Spain.
Yeah, most of GoT was filmed in Northern Ireland, however most scenes that related to north of the wall was filmed in Iceland, scenes related to a lot of the desert scenes with the Dothraki were done in Morocco. Kings Landing was in Malta (then moved to Spain because the government accused the set of destroying some of the historic buildings with the cast and set pieces), and a lot of the areas such as Mareen and Astapor were done in Croatia. I'm probably missing quite a few also. :P

Little off topic from LOTR, but here's some pictures of me on the set location of GoT in Split, Croatia a few years ago... They also set up a museum nearby :P

(One of 3 thrones they made for the TV show - charged people 20 euros to sit on it and take a photo lol)

(The dungeons beneath Kings Landing was filmed in this area of Split)

I'm going to watch The Fellowship of the Ring (2001). I know its going to be good.

IMDb rates it 8.8/10

Edit: The problem is I have so much other stuff to watch. But I'm going to force myself to watch it.
