Ivory Coast versus South Africa was truly awful. Not sure why Zaha wasn't starting, and Pepe was poor. To be fair to Pepe, the rest of the team were awful.
Referee/VAR has been awful in the Spain versus France game so far. Spain have been better, France haven't really gotten into the game as of yet.
Spain dominated. France were awful.
First half of Brazil vs Paraguay has been bad. Brazil look extremely disjointed, no cohesion. If they win this tournament, it won't be because they are good, but because the rest of the teams are awful.

The fact that Argentina actually managed to get to the quarter final while only having one half-decent match against Qatar is a testiment to that.
Colombia's looked good though.

Do you know what I haven't seen in football for awhile? Diving headers. They seem pretty rare these days. I can't remember the last time I saw one... Probably Robin van Persie versus Spain.
Wingers are supposed to cut in and shoot instead of cross these days, as well as strikers being more about build up or the first part in the team's press instead of target men being good in the air.
Giroud's goal for Chelsea in the europa league final this year can be considered a diving header I suppose, although not full leap like van Persie's.
