Never mind the poetic nonsense written, such as "two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year....."

That's all very well and good for a song but did anyone ever ask the goldfish what they think about being stuffed into a small capacity tank and being stared at? They could be supremely intelligent beings who are severely inconvenienced by their lack of land ambulatory choices, were we merely to enquire.

Maybe these poor tortured creatures would tell us they are forever wondering what crime they committed and that they miss their families terribly.

Help! Does anyone here speak Goldfish?
