If they were articles that were in the first whirlwind reporting of the incident, it is likely that they didn't have all of the facts. I saw snippets on my Twitter newsfeed like that.

Did you already set up your Twitch Prime and everything? You should see a part at the side of the screen on Twitch where it says "Get additional benefits on RuneScape" or something similar to that, and that's where it'll give you your code to redeem.
