I don't think that's necessarily true--I've seen an interesting chart that historically, the stock market has spent a significant amount of time within 5% of a record high.
I do think international stocks are generally a better buy right now, especially for US investors with strong dollars. But I'm not really betting on this. I invest about 2/3 of my money in US companies and 1/3 abroad.
@Finance, I have some spare money (few thousand), however I am not comfortable trying to start investing on my own. Is it worth getting a broker with this much or do I not have enough to afford one.
For example, lets say I have $3,000 spare. I would want to use money from there to pay the broker and invest rest. However, if I'm paying like $2,000 to a broker to invest $1,000, I would say it's not worth it for me.
