Maybe because it doesn't refer to a specific God by name (such as Allah, Christ, YhWH *Yahweh* etc), it's just a generic title for a Deity, so no one can be offended by it, or feel excluded by it. Except maybe an Agnostic or Atheist?

And it's used primarily as an exclamation, not in a discussion format - which is not allowed.


Oh, and it could be argued that someone is in fact saying "Oh my gosh", or "Oh my goodness".
