Spending the Christmas season with our youngest son, new grandson, daughter-in-law and her family is off.
Our youngest son and his family are already there and we were going to stay nearby. We got the message today that they are all feeling ill and her Mum has tested positive for Covid. Our eldest son is OK so instead of picking him up on our way to the hotel we will bring him back here instead. I feel so sorry for them all.
Still snowing but at least visibility is ok! Back to my regularly scheduled life after this
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

So Christmas Eve the transmission on my car decides to break, nice.
Flooring the accelerator and the car goes 20KPH in 1st gear, takes like 5 minutes to shift into 2nd.
Wasn't a fluid issue; I suspect I blew the 1st/2nd gear clutch in the housing.
Guess I'm going car shopping for Boxing Week.
I hate spending money on things I need rather than things I want, and stuff does have a way of breaking down at the worst times.
Car shopping is a bit of an exception (for me at least) though, I love looking at cars
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
