That sounds like your fingers were soaked in acetone, and that happens. :L I've soaked my fingers in acetone to remove fake nails before, and that was super drying too.
It's good to treat your cuticles and such to cuticle oil, or I think jojoba oil works well for it too.

I think that's what happened. I had cotton pads soaked in whatever on my nails. She then wrapped them in foil, then iirc cling film and put my hands in a heated mitt. She put oil on my fingers afterwards but the damage had already been done. That was over 5 years ago and I'm not going to have gel varnish ever again!

We'll see how my experience goes with this stuff. I've never used it before, and I put it on last Wednesday. I've literally had no chips and it's been almost a week now, so I'm really impressed with it.
Hopefully the peel off base coat works well! I'll see how long this lasts, and I'll give it another go whenever it starts chipping.
I did forget to shake the polish bottle, and apparently you're supposed to do that lol the polish isn't hugely opaque, but I'm not fussed. The colour is amazing!
I just remembered that I did share it on the forums earlier, it was on my art thread! Hahaha

We got an email this evening cancelling the cruise we were due to go on this September.
I'd been expecting this to happen but its still disappointing. The September cruise was booked to replace the cancelled one from May 2020. The original cruise was to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Maybe we'll have more luck next year and can celebrate 42 years of marriage...
We have until the end of December this year to decide whether to rebook or get our money back. We'll probably rebook but at the moment there isn't a cruise we want to go on. The company are releasing more cruises for 2022 in July so we'll wait and see what they are.
