I usually make a dog's dinner of apostrophes.
Or is that a dogs' dinner?
Or maybe just a dogs dinner.
If an apostrophe is between the letter and the S, it's possessive, meaning "the dinner of the dog," and if it's after the S, it means it's possessive but plural, as in "the dinner of the dogs" and then without is just the lazy 21st century internet way we all use now

Well thank you, Google, for reminding me it was Sir William Ramsay's 167th birthday.
Fortunately, I posted his card early when I spotted the date on my calendar last week so no doubt he'll have his card by now.
I might be dyslexic or something because over the years rs players in these forums have tried to coach me on the correct use of 'your' and 'you're', and 'to' and 'too'. Even my mum who is a librarian has tried to explain it but my mind freezes.
