No, just marg - why would I dirty a pot just to melt butter - I hate dishes with a passion. And the thought of melted butter spread on toast doesn't go down well with me.

Don't need to melt butter if you have a butter dish. Butter is soft at room temp. Even if you're in a colder climate. Do you have a microwave? Melts hard butter in seconds.

Actually, the work involved in melting butter on the stove compared to the result vs margarine is very small compared to the deliciousness involved. If margarine is cheaper for you compared to butter then yes, you do you.

But because you have to wash a little dish?

Life's too short. Wash the dish, enjoy the food.

Cold toast... man... I'd take a double toasted piece of toast over cold toast any day.

If the butter or margerine doesn't melt... it needs to be heated up again... either in the toaster... the oven... or even the microwave...
