A couple hundred people aren't getting heat because of under-pressurized gas lines so the utility shut off a few thousand other people's gas to fix it.

Or one of those portable gas heaters that runs on bottled gas. Maybe an oil-filled portable radiator. You won't be cosy but it'll take the edge off the cold.

The only source of heat is an electric oven but I don't want to gas myself in my sleep, so that's out. After work I may drive out and try to find an electric space heater.

Whoops, that warning was for gas ovens only. Though it still says electric ovens aren't efficient so I'll save that as a last resort.

Contrary to popular belief, electric heat is the only 100% efficient heating.

If you open the oven (as long as it's not a convection oven like mine that turns off when the door is open) and put a fan in front of it, you should be able to pump out some decent heat.
