My family, friends and neighbours would probably think that I'd given up the will to live and starting shopping round for new black clothing to wear to the funeral (goddam fashionistas).
I got enough criticism for refusing to give or receive gifts at Christmas .... if I didn't deck the halls with boughs of holly, so to speak, I'd probably become an object of idle gossip and speculation.

Ugh. Taking down the Christmas tree and schizz later today. I dislike this task as everything seems so bare and drab for a few days after all the lights and glittery bits have gone.
Still, at least these days I can use the excuse that I'm old and creaky to not clamber up into the loft to put the tree and boxes away. Lofts are always so damned creepy.
I feel you. Every year, I get promises of help and every year I do most of the work. But I put my stuff up right after Halloween, so I'm so happy to see it go.
It's a lot of work but once it's done, you feel good.
I also get my husband to get the stuff out of storage and fight the spiders, lol!
The thing I hate is taking the Christmas lights of the tree and untangling them, wrapping them up nicely so they are not tangled for the next year. The rest of it I don't mind but it can take up to February to get it done
Gosh, Molly, you certainly do put yours up early !!
I usually decorate around the first week in December, then get them down first week of January. Not that I'm into the whole twelfth night/Epiphany thing, it's just what I've always done.
