Basically you cook the asparagus in water. Add fresh lemon juice, optionally garlic, salt, spices like nutmeg, and let it simmer on low heat so the flavor of the asparagus doesn't get lost. Then blend it. Simmer. Add this:
w/o the basil (or if you want with). The translation of it I haven't found buts like a mix of farmers cheese and Kraft's Philadelphia cream cheese. Simmer again. Add more asparagus as chunks this time for soup or reduce for gratin.
