Anne Rice, undisputed queen of vampire literature, has passed away aged 80 from complications following a stroke.
In addition to her Gothic novels, which began with her debut novel
Interview with the Vampire
in 1976 and continued with the Vampire Chronicles series, she also wrote erotic fiction under the pseudonyms Anne Rampling and AN Roquelaure. In all, she sold more than 150 million books worldwide.
RIP.
~~~~ Just another victim of the ambient morality ~~~~
Oh wow RIP! I havnt read her books, but I have watched the movies inspired from them and I can imagine how much influence she gave through others. I remember 1st hearing about Anne Rice through a Youtuber named Mahafsoun, a Persian bellydancer who dances to metal music. Few times she mentioned her outfits and Gothic scenery she imposes is heavily inspired by Anne Rice's vampiric novels mixed with her culture. A queen of the damned style. Even though Ms. Rice is gone, in a way others still celebrate for the legacy she left here.
Sorry I can't say I've read any of her books but by the looks of the comments here and elsewhere I'm missing some great books.
