Eating a treat before bed can help you sleep says the " Experts "

Anyone believe this rubbish?

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/eating-delicious-treat-before-bed-29718380

I was told many years ago if I can't sleep well to eat Lettuce 4-5 leaves. I often do that as it contains something to help me sleep. I've done that for years and often have a head of lettuce in my fridge as my parrots eat a lot of it during the week.

If you can find Romaine lettuce it's best for helping with sleep.

It also suggests bananas or kiwis before bed..... Bananas are just too heavy at night. Right.

As for Dark Chocolate I'm not convince eating it before bed is a good iead. I'd have to scrub my teeth more then I'd like too to get rid of the sugar.....

It does list a few things. Some I have to try lol.

I do sleep well at night most often but some nights I just can't sleep. Them nights I'll try some of these things and see how it goes.

So you eat any of the things listed or have your own thing?

Romain lettuce seems abit odd...maybe the dark chocolate since it increases the serotonin levels. I know there are gummies available with serotonin. I will look at some peer reviewed articles.,..,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Mum used to tell me milk helps you sleep though! I actually prefer sleeping on an
empty
stomach because it makes me feel bloated.

That's melatonin, not serotonin. It's an effective sedative but it can only be taken for about a week before your body builds a resistance to it. The age of chivalry is gone; that of sophisters, economists, and calculators has succeeded, and the glory of Europe is extinguished forever.

I think it can for some people, it's a blood sugar thing. Doesn't work for me though, keeps me up. Not drinking caffeine after 6pm is a rule I mostly stick to, but honestly, some nights I don't think it matters what I do. I put my phone on flight mode and on the floor, that's a 'weird' thing I do that I think could help. Invest in a good mattress, maybe a weighted duvet?

In terms of diet, I think if people snacked less then the body wouldn't be expecting to be fed so often and it could go to sleep easier. Intermittent fasting for example. Works for some!

The only thing I currently like before bed is CBD tea. I drink that about an hour before going to sleep. Really is a great way to unwind at night.

This one is my favourite - https://edensgate.co.uk/collections/cbd-tea/products/cbd-chamomile-tea-300mg

I find the combination of CBD and Chamomile to be even more relaxing.

My digestive system picks a fight with me if I eat just before bedtime, so I don't eat after about 8pm.
I'll occasionally have a cup of camomile tea.
