Mhmm, same here. Personally I prefer the manga though.

I've been following it since...oh man, way back when. i've always been really impressed with how the subject matter was handled, always close to the line of what's morally acceptable but never stepping over it (to much, at any rate), and then coming around and validating it somewhat with character development, rather than just letting it play off as cheap ecchi. Very good series if you dont mind walking in moral grey area's.

It's a shame the series never ended up getting that English release it was going to have. Just goes to show that companies dont pay much attention to what they license, the manga was set for an English release way back when under a different title, and then some guy who worked for Borders opened up the first volume and freaked out about the content, so the release got pulled. I spose thats better than them gettting half way and canning it though, becasue some of the stuff in the mid volumes (and the ending as I hear it, i'm still yet to read the last volume) is alot more 'offensive to normal moral standards' than V1.

Also, Revive. did you ever see the TV version or the DVD version? The TV version was funny, best censorship ever.

Not to the degree that you would think in this case. Or rather, it reached that point and then went so far over it that it became entertaining in its own right, to the point that I actively tried to track down the censored version a few years after it aired just so that I could have both versions (and finding a censored version is no easy thing, let me tell you).

Its not the usual black shadow and/or light glare censorship, big 'censored' panels over anything questionable and lots of the dialog was bleeped out using random sound effects. You would think it would be annoying, but it actually made it kinda funny, watching their mouths flap while chicken noises come out.

Are we allowed to post huge spoilers here?

Anyway, I sort of sat through the Battle of Trost arc bored but I really got into Shingeki no Kyojin after the Female Titan arc started. Decided to go read the manga, and found it quite impressive.
