VN's are always a mixed bag. Sometimes you dont want to put them down because the story is interesting, sometimes you dont want to pick them up again because your slogging through a terribly boring part of the story. Worst offender for having a boring middle is Katahane, with a really long and boring flashback about royal politics (and it was a pretty subdued affair to begin with).
Katawa Shoujo is something I have been meaning to get to. I installed it a while ago, flicked through it to see what the quality of it was like seeing as its an amateur-produced game, noticed the lack of several qualities i'm used to (music and voice acting and keyboard commands and such) and closed it to be pursued at a later date that has yet to come. It's hard to go that far down when Key-quality is your benchmark lol.
