Of course. It's way better. We've had these discussions in the past here and I'm not really willing to go into detail.
But, if you start watching sub you'll realize how superior it is.
I can't even watch anime in English anymore. It just infuriates me.

Black Rock Shooter, anime and OVA. Who here has heard of both/seen them? It just might be my favorite.
My anime list:
Naruto
Naruto Shippuden
Bleach
Death Note
Black Rock Shooter
Lucky Star
Fullmetal Alchemist(manga)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (I read the manga before I watch its episode counterpart, however, because FMA:B rushes too much for my liking.)
I haven't watched a bunch of anime yet. Heck, BRS is the only one I've finished. Naruto, too, if you don't count the hug amount of fillers at the end. I tried watching all the fillers, but after several arcs, I just couldn't do it. I think I konked out on episode 180 something.
Let's see now...Bleach, on episode 222, it's getting on my nerves here. All it is is just FIGHTING, where I'm at! There's too much! And there is a distinct lack of Rukia, my favorite anime character, in which, I greatly disapprove of.
Naruto Shippuden....episode 212. I don't know why I stopped watching it; it was getting really good.
Lucky Star.....Well, I'm on episode 7. I just started this one. Hilarious show, although it could use a bit more character development, and a little more conflict would certainly spiff it up. I love all the characters :3.
Fullmetal Alchemist(manga)....Okay, I fell in love with this series. Well-written, very tragic, god plot, interesting premise, wonderful characters... It's pretty great. I'm currently on the 9th manga volume, however, I'm unable to find it in my library. I've gone to the manga section twice, but still haven't found it. And for some reason, manga doesn't really show up on the website. So i got 10 and 11 and decided I'd watch the anime counterpart, though I'm not too happy about that.
Black Rock Shooter was only 8 episodes with an OVA, but it was a deep, beautiful, and very sad story of friendship. One of the most touching animes/OVAs I've watched.
I'm also interested in trying out Soul Eater, and a bit curious about Fairy Tail. I

watched one episode of Wolf's Rain, too, but I haven't gotten to finishing it.
Does anybody have any good anime recommendations, though? I'm a big fan of friendship stories, but I have a hard time finding them. And, well, sad/emotional stuff is big on my list. Serious, tragic anime is best anime.
:)

^ Watching Lucky Star for character development and conflict... yer doin it wrong. Also, I'd recommend not watching Soul Eater since it was 51 episodes of torture.
If you want sad and tragic then I'm your man. Alright let's see... stuff I cried to? I'll start with first stage anime viewing stuff since you haven't seen that much. I'm not sure you'll fully appreciate truly deep stories without some foundation.
Clannad + Clannad: After Story, I'll get this out of the way first since it's pretty popular.
Air
Angel Beats!
Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai
Chrno Crusade
Hotarubi no Mori e, only about a 45 minute movie but it's extraordinary.
Sakamichi no Apollon, strong friendship and romances. I didn't really cry but it's really powerful and moving.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, I'm just gonna throw this one out there. There were some moments when I cried from scenes but it's primarily action but there is a lot of the friendship theme.
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

There's a lot more but you can start with that.

The 2006 version of course, avoid the '02 version like the plague.
Anywho's, on an somewhat vaguely related subject, anybody checked out the trailer for Kyoto Animations offering for next season yet? Its called Chunibyou Demo Koi ga ******, and based on what I saw on the trailer it looks like it will be pretty good.
Based on the trailer, it seems to have something to do with who have hebephrenic schizophrenia, which could definitely be interesting. Next season looks like its gonna be the best one in a while.
