Watched the new Higurashi Kira episode with subtitles this morning. It was definately... different. Now we wait another two months for the next one. :P

Sort of. Kira is a new set of 4 OVA's that they have been releasing over the last couple of months to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Higurashi franchise.

Also, a heads up for anyone who prefers to download and dosent pay to much attention to what the subbers are doing. Recently all the sub are starting to use 10-bit video MKV files as opposed to the 8-bit video thats been used until now.
What that means is that in the event that you keep getting broken colors/ mage or just a green screen when you start the video, its because your playback set-up isn't up to it.
Ive found that VLC v1.1.11 wont play (green screen) so if your getting that and want to use VLC revert back to VLC 1.1.5, which isnt perfect but still will play the video until such times new codec's and players are released to support 10-bit. I assume they havent been becasue im still having issues getting it to work even having tried both CCCP and Klite codec's.
Seems like a lot of effort to go to for very minimal result, ive seen comparisons between 8 bit and 10 bit and I cant see a difference.
