Me! That the the first Japanese non-anime movie that I ever saw. The movies not great, not bad, but not great. The book on the other hand was great, It really puts the whole 'experiment' thing into context as a terror weapon for a corrupt government system, rather than just being about teenagers killing each other.
Its really well written and the action which makes up the bulk of the action is awesome, but I found the most fascinating parts to be the bits that describe the state of the country/government, as well as the moral questions that the book asks.
Hated the second movie though, found it rather boring. Though the real killer for me was the absolute logic fail on the part of the government concerning the twin collars. Fair enough use the fear of death to make them do things, but dont rig it so the enemy can wipe out your forces twice as fast...
Never read the manga series, dont like the art.
