@Embrace ME: The trailer that everyone initially thought was an April Fools joke because of how different it was from the first trailer they released. Yeah, that was pretty awesome, it was that trailer that got me so exited for the game.
As for needing more localization companies, I dont think that the issue is the lack of companies doing localizations so much as the attitude the Japanese companies have towards making their games available on the foreign market.
As i understand it, some British politician and a bunch of womens rights activist groups made a big deal about an eroge that glorified indecent assault (thats putting it mildly) way back when, and thats created alot of apprehension toward allowing these sort of games outside Japan, to the point that some companies even block non-Japanese IP addresses from their websites.
Even though KEY hasn't started to do that yet, they did put a lock on their demo's for Rewrite so that only Japanese OS's could play it. The time between the demo release and the release of a patch to circumvent the region locks was only a few hours, but still.... No confirmation as to whether the full game is region-locked yet.
Really, the feeling within the industry is a little bit ridiculous, since regular VN's and even most ero VN's dont get close to the degree of intensity that the game in question got to. Ive played another game released by the same company, and i can understand why it would have offended some people.
EDIT: Found out that the full game DOES have a Japanese OS lock. Of course, theres also already a patch to crack through it, so it makes you wonder why they bothered in the first place. I love what they named the patch file, 'Gaijinhack'.
