Another show that's rated poorer than it should be: Demon King Daimo. Just finished watching it I have to say I'll be chalking it up as one of my favorites.
I've been hearing a lot about Stein's Gate. Is it good and should I consider watching it? Also, if anyone could give me a low-down on the overall plot and genres it involves would be great, thanks.
I think it's the most discussed anime in this thread at the moment, so I would recommend it if you want to know what we're talking about.
I think the main genres are sci-fi and thriller, but there's also a good amount of comedy in it.
The story is about a self-proclaimed mad scientist named Okabe Rintarou (but he likes to be called Hououin Kyouma), who accidentally invents a machine that can send text messages back in time. He and his fellow lab members start experimenting with it, but everytime they use it the past gets changed in more ways than they had expected.
But they soon find out they're not the only ones who have been doing research on time travel, an organization named SERN is very determined and willing to sacrifize humans for their cause.
If you like stories involving time travel or with mysterious events I recommend this anime. The characters are interesting and Okabe is a funny guy. Don't get confused by the first episode, we still don't know what happened there but my guess is we will find out somewhere in the second half.
I know this is gonna sound random, but, how do people here pronounce Manga?
Man-ga
or Mon-ga
I typically say Manga because of how its spelt, but, some people say Monga because of the way it is said in Japanese.
@TechEngineer
Thanks, I may have to watch it once i'm done with Gosick
@Dynamic Hawk
Odd coincidence, I was think the same thing this morning. I'm not entirely sure how to pronounce it, but I tend to pronounce it as "mang" (like bang) and "ah". Probably incorrect but meh.
I pronounce it as "màn-gá". I believe the Japanese pronounce it like this too. (You can listen to the pronunciation on w*kipedia
).
The first a should be pronounced as the a in the word "star" (so not as in "bang"!), the second a as in the word... wait I don't think there is an English word with such pronunciation. I find that with a lot of Japanese syllables, they would be hard to pronounce for native English speakers because those vowels are different from English vowels.
I have the advantage that the vowels in my native language (Dutch) sound exactly as the vowels in Japanese, so I have no problem pronouncing it correctly. Well the downside is that most Dutch people have trouble with speaking English because of this reason (just like Japanese people, only a little better).

Anybody here seen School Days? I just finished it and I thought it would be like your typical harem show but wow did that take me by surprise at the end.
^ Haha I nearly died laughing after hearing that "Nice Boat". But why is school days listed at a love triangle anime? It's more like a love octagon lol
