Pokemon is bad, now, no question about it. There is no American/Japanese version because they are the same thing, not two separate anime series. On that topic, American 'anime' is just cartoons and people have this problem all the time. Anime is a term in Japanese and has no relevance to original American shows.
So yeah, I doubt Pokemon in Japanese dialect is any different than the English. Just episodes of constant TR blasting away in different scenery with different Pokemon. That is the ONLY reason to watch now, for the animated Pokemon themselves.

Pokemon lost his mojo after the 5th season or so. An Ash that hasnt grow even an inch, mentally and phisically talking, in the past 10 years or so its just lame Pokemon could have become a great serie if Ash would have been developed ina deeper way, and if he actually was able to grow...sriously he hasnt changed a bit since the 1st season, forget the clothes and the new animation techniques of course.
For anyone looking for an intresting gore kind of anime go watch Mnemosyne it has 6 chaps of 45 min each and i found it intresting and Well developed,of course it has its plot holes but o well.
Also started this mistery 13 chaps anime called Ookami K**ushi ihve found it intresting up untill now, chap 5 atm.
@Westenev......the pther Gundam series were bad?!!! go watch Gundam Wing, best Gundam, after 00, anime ever!!!

Gundam Wing, I never got into it.
All it was, was the guy with the glasses saying "Imma kill you!"
And then the mysterious guy did the same, but except he had the line, "No, thats my Gundam!"
