^ Yeah, the live action movies for death note are pretty terrible. I bought them both in a double pack and i still haven't watched the second one (and probably never will) just becasue of how much the first one sucked.
But that usually seems to be how it is when they adapt a live action movie from an anime/manga, i haven't seen one that was good yet.

Did you hear they want to make an American version of Death Note?
Don't get me wrong, but......You know what they did to DBZ right? Imagine that with Death Note!
It's hard to mess that up what with the writing part, but still....
And guess who wants to play Light!? Zac Efron..
In other words, RUINED! Imagine that sport jock laughing like Light. *Shakes head*

They could always dub the laughing with Brad Swaile's laugh if Zac Efron's evil laugh doesn't fit.
They do need an actor who is athletic and good looking for the part, so we would have ended up with some variety of "sports jock" anyway, at least this one will attract crowds to help the film profit.
Besides, given the ending, everyone's happy at some point in the film. :p

Well they need an athletic and good looking actor to play an athletic and good looking guy. He fits the criteria, won an award this year for favourite under-25 movie star, and his popularity will help boost viewings.
As an added bonus, he apparently likes Death Note.
There isn't any guarantee that he will be playing the part though; he had a meeting about it but other than that one meeting I've heard nothing to do with the film other than Death Note being the favourite manga of the director Shane Black.

@Jesse B77
ihve been thinking about Shiro's relatiion with the branches of sin andthe fact that she activated her powers once the energy got turned off, image of those huge crystalized blood squares being shut down, and she said something about a song ending so i guess she was one of wretched egg first victims and ended up evolving into that Shiro we know now. That or she is an unknown original branch of sin carrier like Wretched Egg that managed to pass undercover in that "blood night" or however they call the event when the bracnhes of sin appeared.
Some one mentioned that Deadman Wonderland was a 12 chapter anime, where can i read how many chapters will an anme have?
