^well. except for the ending. That was the very definition of anti-cli9max (i cant beleive thats censored.)
But yeah, @Doctor Fetus the news story is up on ANN now, if you haven't seen it already.
@Me Now Newb: not in this case my friend, not in this case.
Anyways, it seems like the English industry for VN's/Eroge is really starting to pick up of late. Ive played a few of the ones that where already English licensed that a friend of mine lent me, and none of them where ever very good.
In the last few years or so though, we've had MangaGamer enter the market more heavily, and now they are trialing physical releases over their usual 'DL to own' system (first one is a special edition version of Da Capo, already got mine pre-ordered. Really wish it didn't have that big red 18+ logo on it, how am i going to explain that to mum...).
Now we've got School Days as well, so it seems that these companies are taking more interest in the higher quality VN's that have seen anime adaptations as opposed to the cheap junk. With any luck, someone will look at a license for KEY properties, though i wont be crossing my fingers for LB:Ex or Kud Wafter any time soon for obvious reasons.
Its to bad that some companies are so vehemently opposed to having their games sold outside japan. Some of them even have it set up so that their websites cant be accessed from outside japan...go figure eh.
Ah well, for now i just have to cross my fingers that these games actually are able to make it through customs. Any game thats got a rating over MA15+ gets refused classification here, so im not sure what the rules about importing them are.
I assume you can import them for private use since my mate buys them under the counter at Animania and Supanova (which reminds me, i need to get my tickets....) but im not really sure, guess ill check *goes to customs website*
