Let's see, since the last time I stopped by here, watched Vampire Knight, boy was that good, though after I point I felt some of it got stupid
Yuuki: I just have to help them!
Me: How are you planning to do that again? Ohh... right, by going in front of a pureblood who is obviously more powerful than you or any of your friends and you are perfectly aware your boyfriend isn't there, and you also know that his goal is to actually get you. That is a great way to help I suppose...
I get critical like that too easily... Hope you don't count that as a spoiler =p
I wish there were more anime characters like Sugata from Sora No Otoshimono. Just some1 who can be viewed as uhh... straight faced and a go to man.

Why do o mny ppl like subs? I hae subs an like dubs. Mainly because...
1)You're hearing something different from what you are reading, but you have to read and listen at the same time to get the tone of voice correct, as how they are saying it, meanwhile, while you'r doing that, the action is zippin right by and ur missing it. I hate pause, read, go back, waatch action and think what they said before........
2) The voices, i hate. a few are good, but bleh. Naruto' japanese voice is womanly, not like his awesome, rough, english voice.
3) sakura and hinatas voices are too high pitched in subbed. Squeal squeal.
4) Bleach sub voices are good, but i just prefer dub more, sinmce the voices are significantly better.

Well, subtitles have a variety of advantages of watching an anime dubbed. Ive found that in the dub, a lot of details are missed because they need to tell the story AND match the lips. It may not be as obvious in the excessively long fillerific shonen shows, but in shorter anime with more emphasis on the overarching story, dubs tend to suffer and miss the fine points alot.
Second; You say the voices are better, but pretty much anyone who favors subs will tell you that American voice actors cannot act for nuts (with a few exceptions). Its rare that i find an anime where the dub outperforms the sub, because usually the VA's for the dub sound very flat and uninterested in what their doing.
Third; Dubs are localized to America. Alot of anime hinges on being Japanese to some extent, either as a plot device of just to make a funny joke. Since all the dub companies tend to cut these out, the always replace them with something random and unfunny.
Four: Subs can tell the tale in a way that the dun could never do by using various words that have no English equivalent. A character or the relationship can be established more effectively when these words are used. (i refer,of course, to things like honorifics and meaningless sentence endings, among other things).

Really, to get the maximum enjoyment out of watching subtitles you have to train your mind so that your not consciously reading the subs and looking down. After a time, you start to read the titles unconsciously and start to sort of hear the characters speaking English (or more so, it just dosent occur to you thats its a foreign language anymore) . It works for me anyways, i can spend the entire episode looking at the screen and not really trying to read the subs, and i can still tell you exactly what they said/what happened in the episode (and i know very little Japanese).

What i think it comes down to is that the more time you spend listening to the subbed versions of anime (and that means you'll need to expand your palette beyond 'shonen jump 101') the more you get used to japanese voices and the better watching in sub seems.
