You got to have respect for the people who makes the Anime.
There is a Reason why Disney quit the awesome ways of anime
, and that era was when I enjoyed Disney as its fullest. Now they mostly give out 3d stuff.
People hand draw almost every frame that is put into an Anime, it takes a huge amount of time and skill!

Personally i enjoy Love-Comedies (such as School Rumble), but the ones that reach my top Favs usually contains loads of Drama and a hidden message about Human Ethics.
One I would recommend for the people.
Darker Than Black(Mysterious, one of my personal favourites)
Katanagatari (Relaxing, yet fight scenes)
Cromartie High School (Incredible Random Comedy, favourite!)
School Rumble (Just like above just with Romance as well)
I do not speak of the most famous animes, that should say itself. I am fond of the small treasures that has 13-26 episodes. Often less than the 100 peak. But that doesn't mean I do not watch the famous ones.

Anime has changed my Life and personality.
Of course most anime got common/uncommon knowledge that you learn without even having the intention to.
For ex: When you are invited to a very formal dinner with loads cutlery... What cutlery do you use first? Or for what meal? (cutlery as in Knives, Forks and spoons given).

I also read manga, though i am not sure if this thread is only see Anime as on-topic.

Just watched Highschool of the Dead and all I can say is wow. It was amazing! Some people might say it was a bit gorey but that's partly why I liked it!
I especially loved how the survivors defended themselves against the hordes of the undead. Baseball bats in hand.
Although I did predict one of the events that happened (Don't want to give any spoilers) it was a really good anime and I can't wait for next weeks episode.
