Darling in the Franxx was announced, I saw. It's by Trigger and A1-Pictures.

The teaser doesn't show much:

It seems to be original, which is good, since I think that's where Trigger shines best. Her shadow in the poster above is interesting, getting Elfen Lied vibes.

Gurren Lagann also seems to be getting re-released in Blu-Ray format.

So, the loli show from the guy who brought you loliball is fan-servicy and sexualised. Apparently that's come as a suprise to some people, considering how parts of the internet seem to be imploding.

I have to wonder, how hard do people have to try in order to preserve their sense of moral outrage when it comes to things like? I would have imagined that anyone who's been consuming anime for a while, and indeed people who do so as a profession, would have become numb to this shit years ago.

Is it those people that are 'taking offence' though?

I would assume it would be people that don't understand or have knowledge about anime or Japanese media as whole who are responding negatively. It could be people that can't discern between reality and fiction also.

If it's people that consume Japanese media regularly then I don't know what to say. It would be beyond baffling to think they aren't aware or aren't used to it.

Anyway, I will check it out.

It's the review staff on ANN, so I'de at least like to hope that they consume Japanese media regularly. Here's the article in question, then you have to read the comments in the forum:

Though to give you the TLDR version, "I was going to give this show somewhere between 3-4 out of 5, but then the very last line of the episode made a sexual joke involving a loli so now this show is Satan incarnate".

I just saw words like "loli territory" and the quote you shared. I cannot take their opinions seriously.

Never used that site before, but now I know to avoid it.
