idk dude. I just want something to watch mindlessly while I'm shitfaced. I think Fairy Tail fits the bill. That and I have a friend irl (he's a pleb) that likes it so that's why it's specifically on my mind

As some of you should know, I've always avoided the long running battle shounens. But Fairy Tail is starting to call out to me.... Should I watch it?
As someone who has seen every episode, I can say it has it's up's and it's downs.
The early episodes are quite grating, but as it progresses it get's better. That said, there are still points where it makes you think why the heck am I watching this. It isn't really until you get to the Grand Magic Games and Tartaros arcs that averything starts really falling into place, but there is a massive amount of foreshadowing throuout the entire series. There are a few filler arcs, but they are the kind that fit naturally into the story, to the point that if you haven't read the manga, you wouldn't realize they were filler arcs.
As for if you should watch it, I'd say it's worth watching, just know that it is very slow at the beginning, the first 10 episodes are essentially an introduction, though there is still a fair bit of foreshadowing even in those beginning episodes, little teasers that you don't really pick up on until much later in the series.

It's just very daunting to start something that has so many episodes. Like geez I'm struggling to even commit to watching a 26 episode series nowadays.
To be honest, the biggest issue with Fairy Tail is how long it takes to actually start up. Episodes 11-18 is where we see the first real movement, but it isn't until 21 that it finally manges to go fullbore.
It's good, just takes forever to get moving is all.
But yeah, give it shot. Watch to the end of the Phantom Lord War arc and decide then. It starts at episode 21.

If that's what you're going for you'd probably have more success with something like Keijo (absurd humor) or Rosario Vampire (trashy, but in a fun way). Shonen shit like Fairy Tail is just a slog.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.
There is no "give it a shot" for me. If I start something, I finish it. It may go on-hold go long periods of time but I'll surely finish it. I'm still considering but if I do start on it it will be in the next few days sometime.
Glad I'm finally watching Freedom, which I downloaded like 5 years ago. After I finish this I plan on watching Getter Robo: Armageddon and potentially Mad Bull 34. Then comes Fairy Tail...

You know, I really wish there was a way to make H doujins and manga more mainstream similar to other manga. Maybe it would stop uneducated officials saying some of the things they do. Seriously, how does a Government Official manage to confuse fiction with reality.
It's a book. What you are seeing is not happening to a real person. Get over it already.
