It's a mediocre adaptation of a somewhat decent manga. The show gives the dog way too much screen and there's a stretch of like five episodes where the zombies are completely relegated to the sidelines in favor of SOL filler. I mean, without zombies what does Gakkou Gurashi have going for it? Not much really.

It's the contrast between the two that makes it compelling. I dont think it would be interesting with just CGD** and it wouldn't be that great with just zombies either. The fact that the situations are occurring admidst a foreboding setting and the implications of such as what makes it so worth watching.

What contrast though? they don't build on it at all there's just the occasional remember zombies moment. I agree with Icy.
